About Residential Inpatient Treatment
Residential inpatient treatment at Trust SoCal provides a fully immersive recovery experience within our JCAHO-accredited facility in Fountain Valley, Orange County. Clients live on-site for the duration of their treatment, which typically ranges from 30 to 90 days, receiving structured therapeutic programming from morning through evening in an environment free from the triggers, stressors, and access to substances that undermine recovery in the outside world.
Our residential program is built on a foundation of evidence-based clinical practices delivered by a multidisciplinary team of licensed therapists, psychiatrists, addiction counselors, and medical professionals. Each client receives an individualized treatment plan developed during a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment that considers the unique interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors contributing to their addiction.
A typical day in residential treatment includes individual therapy sessions, group therapy, psychoeducation classes, experiential therapies such as art therapy and mindfulness meditation, physical wellness activities, and structured free time for reflection and peer connection. Our clinical modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care approaches. Clients with co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or bipolar disorder receive integrated dual diagnosis treatment from our psychiatric team.
The residential setting offers several critical advantages. By removing clients from their daily environment, we eliminate exposure to people, places, and routines associated with substance use. The 24/7 structure provides consistent accountability, immediate access to clinical support during difficult moments, and a community of peers who share the common goal of recovery. Research published in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment demonstrates that longer residential stays are associated with significantly better long-term outcomes, including lower relapse rates and improved quality of life.
Family involvement is a key component of our residential program. We offer weekly family therapy sessions, family education workshops, and communication skills training to help repair relationships and build a supportive home environment for when the client transitions to less intensive levels of care. Our clinical team also coordinates discharge planning from the first week of admission, ensuring that each client has a clear, actionable plan for stepping down to our Partial Hospitalization Program or Intensive Outpatient Program upon completion of residential treatment.
Trust SoCal's residential program is designed to address every dimension of addiction, giving clients the time, clinical resources, and supportive community they need to build a strong foundation for lasting recovery.
