About Yoga & Mindfulness Therapy
Yoga & Mindfulness Therapy integrates physical postures, breathwork, and meditation practices to address the mind-body disconnection that is central to addiction. At Trust SoCal, our trained yoga therapists lead sessions specifically adapted for individuals in substance use recovery, focusing on trauma-sensitive approaches that prioritize safety, choice, and body awareness.
Addiction often manifests as a disconnection between the mind and body—individuals may use substances to numb physical sensations or escape uncomfortable feelings stored in the body. Yoga therapy restores this connection by teaching clients to inhabit their bodies safely, recognize physical cues related to stress and cravings, and use breath and movement as tools for self-regulation. Combined with mindfulness practices, yoga therapy builds the interoceptive awareness that is essential for recognizing and responding to triggers before they lead to relapse.
